Our Curriculum
Maths – Number and Place value (numbers to 1,000,000), addition and subtraction, multiplication and division (factors, primes, multiples, squares, cubes, written methods).
English – Journey (story writing), Brightstorm (letter and description), Mad about Monkeys (non-fiction – non-chronological report)), Cloud Tea Monkeys (non-fiction – explanation), poetry
History -Anglo-Saxons
Geography – Mountains
Art – Batik
DT – sewing (cushion)
RE – Islam , Hinduism
Music – Livin’ on a Prayer (Rock), Christmas Cantata
PE – Hockey, Dance (two terms), Football
Computing – Computing systems and networks (systems and searching), Creating Media (vector graphics).
On a weekly basis, we expect the children to complete the following activities:
- Reading – Daily for 10 minutes (needs to be signed at least 3 times a week).
- Times Tables Rockstars – Some children will have it set as their homework, all will need to participate in battles throughout the year.
- Homework book – Maths CGP homework book, with pages to complete. This will be communicated via Class Dojo (given on a Friday and due the following Thursday).
- PE kits need to be in school on a Thursday.
