Curriculum Statements

 

English statement of intent

To deliver an exciting, innovative Literacy curriculum which enables and empowers children's written and oral communication and creativity.

 

Maths statement of intent

To provide a high-quality mathematic education with a mastery approach, so that all children become fluent in the fundamentals of mathematics, can reason mathematically and can solve problems by applying their mathematics that they need in life beyond school.

 

R.E Statement of Intent

To develop an understanding and appreciation for the expression of beliefs, cultural practices, religions and worldviews in the local, national and wider global community.

 

French Statement of Intent

To develop the teaching and learning of French across the school, preparing children for future opportunities in French speaking countries.   

 

Humanities Statement of Intent

To develop children’s experiences and understanding of Geography and History, inspiring and igniting their curiosity about the wider world.

 

PE Statement of Intent

To develop children’s experiences and enable them to achieve personal successes, the appropriate skills and confidence to partake in all sports.

 

Science

To develop children's scientific knowledge and understanding of the nature, processes and methods of science, for now and the future. 

 

EYFS statement of intent

Working in partnership with parents to encourage independent, happy learners who thrive in school and reach their full potential.

 

Computing statement of intent

To develop children's experience and understanding of ICT, preparing them for jobs of the future.

 

Art Statement of intent

To develop children’s critical abilities and understanding of their own and others’ cultural heritages through studying a diverse range of male and female artists.

 

Design Technology statement of intent

To develop their creativity and imagination, to design and make products that solve real and relevant problems within a variety of contexts.

 

PSHE

To equip all pupils at St Botolph’s with the knowledge, skills and understanding that they need to lead confident, healthy, independent lives, enabling them to thrive in the ever-changing world that is developing around them.

 

SMSC & BV

To develop the whole child and create responsible, active citizens who leave school prepared for life in Modern Britain.

 

RSE statement of intent

For our children to know how to keep safe, be able to make informed decisions about their own health, relationships and wellbeing and know when and where to access support when it is needed.
