Year 1

Welcome to Year One

 

We are thrilled to be welcoming you back to school and are looking forward to getting to know you all. The classroom is ready, the lessons are planned, children...we're ready for you!

 

Below is some information that you may find useful. We will aim to update this website on a regular basis. Further down this page, we will provide an overview of what the children will be learning during each term and add some photographs of any 'wow' moments. In addition to this, we will list dates for your diaries. 

 

The Year One Team

If you have any problems or questions, a member of the team will be available on the gate each morning. We are more than happy to help! We look forward to working with you all.

Useful Information

PE Days: Monday and Friday 

Reading Books: We will aim to change reading books on a Monday and Thursday. Please write in your child's diary so that we can see that they have read. Thank you.
Homework: This will be given out on a Friday and should be back at school the following Thursday. The homework activities will cover a range of subjects.

Term One

Our first topic is going to be Superheroes! The children will be doing lots of exciting curriculum challenges based on their favourite heroes. Our English is also centred around the brilliant book, "Super Daisy."

 

Dates for your Diary:

Wednesday 2nd September: First day at school

Wednesday 21st October : Superhero Wow Day

Events

 

                                                                         Term 2

During this term, the topic will be "Journeys." The provision will be looking at tranport and travelling, with an English link to Traditional Tales. This topic also links in really well with our Geography topic, which looks at the UK, as well as our History topic on trains.
