We hope you have had a wonderful Easter. We have a lot of exciting learning happening this term, read on to find what wonderful things we will be doing in term 5 and 6.

 

 

The Year Three Curriculum

 

Below you will find a number of documents to support our learning in Year 3. The curriculum objectives, or 'milestones' document, shows what the children will be learning across all subjects throughout the whole of year three. You will also be able to find the Autumn Curriculum Newsletter which details what we are learning this term in year three.

Trips

 

Term 1: Wild Woodcraft – This is an outdoor experience trip to support our history learning of the Stone Age. 

 

Term 6: Egyptian Exhibit – we will visit the Egyptology exhibition at The Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge to support our history learning about Egyptians.

Homework

 

Term 5 and 6 - There are four weekly tasks to be completed for homework.

 

  1. Read to an adult at home at least three times a week for a minimum of 10 minutes.
  2. Log in to Times Table Rockstars. Over the week please spend at least 10 minutes playing in the Garage section of the App as this has the bespoke timetables for your child.
  3. Spellings should be practised at home. Children will be sent home with the appropriate spellings to be practised throughout the year.
  4. Homework activities in homework books to be completed. Homework issued on the Friday will be due back the following Thursday.

PE

 

Both classes will participate in two PE session per week. In Term 5 and 6, both lessons will be on Monday afternoons.

 

Please ensure that your child has the correct kit, a list is in the front of their reading diaries if you have any queries.

 

Children will get changed at school before their lesson on a Thursday, PE kits will be sent home to be washed at the end of the day. They must be returned on a Monday morning.

 

Children will be taking part in the daily mile. They will not need to bring in additional P.E kit for this and it will take place throughout the normal daily timetable.

Reading Diaries

 

Reading diaries must be in school every day.

Please ensure that you sign the reading record every time your child reads and what pages they have read. They will not be able to change their book if their reading record is not signed.
