Journey of our Garden

Our garden was an unused, unloved space that was being wasted and in need of a good makeover to be fit for use for our Forest School.

A lot of hard work has gone into this renovation and many people from all parts of the St Botolph's community have given up many hours to help and support and donated many items too.

In July 2022 we had a Ground Force Day where the main handy work was done. Raised beds were removed and some relocated. We moved a lot of soil! Overgrown bushes were trimmed back, a shed base was built and benches were made to form the seating around our fire pit. It was a fabulous, successful day and food was also provided by PTFA.

We had an open day in September 2022 to introduce our garden to everyone. Our worship was outside and parents came to look at our newly renovated space after school. There was a huge turnout. It was so good to see so many parents come to look around and to see all the children so proud to show off this space they are now using.

I am so proud of everyone's hard work and support with this project and the garden now truly looks amazing. Thank you.

After having completed a full year at Forest School the garden has transformed even more than we ever thought and is now in full bloom. We have had strawberries, wild flowers, sunflowers, beans and we are growing pumpkins for the Autumn.

The project continues...
