Read Write Inc online spelling programme

We have been given access for you to utilise the Read Write Inc spelling programme which we use in school. You will need to go to the following website: https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/

Once there, go to the ‘My Class Login’ button at the top of the page and log in using the username and password sent to you on Class Dojo.

Once you are logged in, you need to click the button that says 'Extra practice zone'. This will then bring up a range of spelling games and activities that your child can work through. Please ensure that you select the year group using the drop down menu at the top to ensure that the spellings are age appropriate.
 

CEWs

By the end of year 2, all children should be able to spell every Key Stage 1 Common exception word. These are words that do not necessarily sound out. We have attached the year 1 and 2 word lists for the children to get practicing at home - who will master them all?

Suffixes

In addition we have uploaded a list of words that use suffixes. This is one of our year two writing skills so we will be on the look out for who is using some of these words and spelling them correctly when we get back to school.

Year 2 Spelling Rules

Finally, we have also uploaded a document showing you all of the spelling rules that the children have covered so far on the Year 2 RWI Spelling Programme. It would be great if you could keep practicing these at home and trying to remember them. You could maybe choose one rule a day to focus on.
