Reading
Readon
The website below is also a great one to access reading books on - it has over 7000 books available that the children can either read or listen to. They can choose a topic that interests them and then select books to read all about.
Big Cat Reading Books
Here is a link to free Big Cat e-books which is the scheme that we follow in school. Your child should know the colour band that they are currently reading. After the book has been read, there is a comprehension quiz to complete too. In addition to this, please keep reading lots of books from home.

Please also use the comprehension resources on Twinkl. There are lots of packs designed for year 2 pupils and they are offering free accounts to allow for learning at home to take place. There are both fiction and non-fiction texts available around a wide range of topics and interest, all with suitable questions too. We use these resources within school and find them great for improving comprehension skills.
