Welcome to the Year 5 Class page!

During the second term in year 5 we will continue our learning about the Angles, Saxons and Jutes in History and Mountains in Geography.

In DT, we will be creating a cushion, using our Batik Motif from term 1.

We will be doing Table tennis for indoor PE and hockey in outdoor PE so you will need both indoor and outdoor kits.

Homework

This will be put on Seesaw on a Friday and expected to be finished by the following Thursday. Homework will include maths and one other subject (English, geography, history etc.) relating to what we are learning or already have covered in class.

Children are expected to read at least 3 times a week and their homework diaries signed to show this.

Spellings, in the form of ‘Fridge Words’ will be sent home and your child is encouraged to learn them. They will be relevant to the learning in class.

PE

Please ensure your child has the correct kit in school on the requested days. PE this term is on a Monday (indoor and outdoor).

Trainers rather than plimsoles must now be worn for safety and practicality. We will be using the playing field whenever possible, and this can get muddy. Please make sure children have suitable warm clothes for outdoor PE as the weather begins to get colder.
