Useful Information

  • PE Day – Tuesday
  • Reading Diaries - Reading diaries should be in school every day. Please ensure that you sign the reading record every time your child reads. They may not be able to change their book if their reading record is not signed. Your child will come home with a levelled 'Big Cat' book for their assigned reading level which they should be reading regularly. They may supplement this with their own reading for pleasure books from home or from our Class Library. For information on your child's reading level, please check their reading diary.

If you have any problems or questions, please do get in contact via 'Class Dojo'. We are more than happy to help!

Homework in Year 5

On a weekly basis, we expect the children to complete the following activities:

  • Reading – Daily for 10 minutes
  • Times Tables Rockstars – 60 minutes over the course of a week in the ‘Garage’ section. There will be an icon that shows the children how many minutes they have left to play. (This will begin on Friday 15th September
  • Knowledge Organisers - These will be sent home with the children for some areas of our learning. Our first Knowledge Organiser will be for our Mountains work in Geography. Please put these somewhere visible and help the children to learn the information on them.

If there are any other activities that are set, we will inform you through ‘Seesaw’ and ‘Class Dojo’.
